All Members
The Society held its Annual General Meeting yesterday on the 28th June. For those of you who were unable to attend the meeting (which was the vast majority of the membership), one of the key issues that was discussed was the increase in our water costs, which have gone up by 40%.
This large increase in the cost of water now means that the money we collect from you all to cover the cost of water we all use is no longer sufficient. However, the society has decided this year we will not be increasing water charges for members but it is likely we will need to do this in September 2026. The Society will use its existing funds to absorb the increase this year and thus reduce this financial burden on the members.
However, in light of these increased water charges it is even more important that ALL MEMBERS ensure that water is used carefully and should not be wasted or mis-used. We would ask all members to re-read the latest “Using Water” document that was recently circulated, noting that hose pipes are forbidden. Any members who believe that anyone in the Society is mis-using water should notify the committee immediately so action can be taken. Mis-use of water, especially the use of hose pipes, is a serious breach of the Society’s Rules and can lead to termination of tenancy.
Thank you
